NORTHRIDGE, California – Founded on a mission to provide local acts and events with professional-grade equipment and knowledgeable engineers who truly care about providing excellent service, Detroit, Michigan-based EMCEE Audio Production has relied on HARMAN’s JBL Professional loudspeakers for more than five years. Coowners Gerald “Curly” Wonch and Matt Matthews have built the company from the ground up, providing high-quality audio solutions to corporate and festival events as well as concerts, nightclubs and bars.
EMCEE owns a wide range of JBL loudspeakers, including SRX725 2-way portable speakers and SRX728S subwoofers, SRX712M stage monitors, VRX932LA Constant Curvature speakers and VRX918S subwoofers, and PRX512M powered stage monitors. EMCEE also relies on Crown XTi 4000 power amplifiers.
Working on a tight start-up budget five years ago with audio systems dealer Dave Short of Short Sound Systems, Wonch first began by stocking his speaker inventory with JBL’s affordable MPro series to support local bar shows. Soon enough, word spread about the quality of service EMCEE provided and Curly began supplying audio reinforcement for live shows in small concert venues. He quickly added to his supply, purchasing JBL’s larger and more powerful SRX systems.
“We started the business to offer our friends and fellow music lovers great service, and in doing so, we kept growing at a steady pace,” Wonch noted. “Then, when the festivals began calling, we knew we were doing something right.”
With the festival demand, Curly invested in JBL’s VRX series to provide the predictable, precise coverage needed for larger spaces, and if EMCEE encounters a large venue requiring an even larger setup, the company always provides JBL VERTEC® line array systems through regional rental-industry partners.
“Our JBL loudspeakers have been put through a wide series of tests in the field, and have always brought out the best in our clients. We aren’t working with platinum-selling artists, but all musicians want to put on their best performance at a gig,” Wonch continued. “With JBL speakers, we just do our own thing and have fun with our clients. Providing great solutions is our business and our success is synonymous with the quality equipment that HARMAN offers.”

Having MyStarSound buuld me a pedal board cable loom cut my setup from 30 minutes down to 5. It is such an important part of my rig and it helps deliver the pure signal to my effects lopp as well as the input stage of my amp. It has quite simply been built the correct way, period!
"I've tride every kind of cable on the planet and I have found that the best cables available in the world come from Four Star Wire & Cable Inc. What makes these cables so good? It's simple: Very high shielding so there is no interference.
Every night , you just wrap it up, and there is no tangling, no spaghetti mess. These cables keep my live and studio rigs running flawlessly and sounding their very best, day after day, night after night."
When I was 15 years old, a record producer told me "The sound comes from the source". I have lived by that motto since! Of course we all use the best instruments possible, but if we're milking them, we depond on the "signal" from that source. THat's where MyStarSound comes in. As a producer / Mixser in the the studio, i asked MyStarSound to make a couple of patch cables for me "just to try". Whithin a week, I replaced every cable in my studio with MyStarSound cables and looms!
Currently I am on the road with Cinderella playing in from of 10-20,000 people every night and my "security blanket" is MyStarSound drum loom. I am confident that I will have the fattest, purest signal possible, every night. Just compare a MyStarSound cable to any other one out there, there is no comparison!
MyStarSound cables and looms are the most solidly built cables that I've ever used!
